The Clockmaker

We were delighted to be approached by Paul to produce these fantastic books. Produced in a case bound format, using multiple hits of white and black ink on Colorplan Ebony black – to create a subtle gloss effect on the black material and stand out white for detail – and complimented by black end papers and pages printed on HP Indigo using Munken Rough 150gsm Polar White, the books are available to purchase at £12.00 plus P&P by contacting Paul Farquharson direct using the details or via Instagram DM @beetrootbox.

Paul Farquharson, BeetrootBox Films, comments on his book: “There was always a reason or excuse for why I couldn’t find time to writing the story. It had been bubbling in the depths of my mind for years. If I’m honest with myself I think it was fear.  What happens if it doesn’t turn out as good as I thought? What if people don’t like it?  Finally, this year, a year most of us won’t forget, something changed.  2020 gave me an unexpected gift – time.  Like many people, this time allowed us to explore and discover new things. Time to think, dream, make, and create.

The Clockmaker is a 40-page illustrated book for adults and children. The story is inspired by my grandpa who passed away when I was 17. He was a Clocksmith and owned a shop in Glasgow. The book is the tale of a remarkable clockmaker with dreams of creating the world’s finest clock, but was always too busy with life to find the time. This short excerpt from the book sums up the moral of this story…

If you have a dream, something bubbling inside, an itch or a niggle that wakes you at night.
Grab life with both hands before it’s too late, follow your heart, make it your fate.”
